Ultralight solo tent for fast and light adventures

Most ultralight solo shelters feel cramped and spartan inside. Not the Alto TR1. This one-person, semi-freestanding design boasts class-leading interior space and comfort for three-season adventures, with loads of useable room, a high ceiling, an oversized door and a large vestibule for storing gear. Adjustable ventilation and multiple set-up modes also make this backpacking tent cool, airy and versatile. And though the standard Alto TR1 weighs only 938g (minimum trail weight), it’s also packed full of intuitive features, like dual-use storage bags that can be clipped into your tent to create either extra storage or a handy tent lantern. With a frame that utilises DAC’s world-class Featherlite NFL and Pressfit pole sections, the ultralight Alto TR1 is ready for fast and light adventures

    • Patent-pending Tension Ridge Architecture creates class-leading usable space, height and climate control
    • Oversized Apex Vent efficiently expels hot air to prevent condensation build-up
    • Baseline and Apex Vents work together to create superior airflow and are easily adjusted from inside the tent
    • Easily convert the fly into a semi-open shelter with Hangout Mode—perfect for socialising, communal meals or getting out of the sun (requires a pair of adjustable trekking or bivvy poles)
    • FairShare Storage System allows you to distribute weight evenly between friends or within your pack
    • Lightbar tent pole storage sack doubles as a light-diffusing lamp that can be secured to the ceiling

  • Sustainability through longevity: Sea to Summit designs and builds gear that is meant to be put to the test, wherever your adventures take you. Sea to Summit guarantee this product against defects in materials or workmanship for the expected lifetime of the product.

  • What is it that attracts us to the idea of adventure? For Sea to Summit, it’s about freedom and self-reliance – the ability not just to survive, but to thrive in any environment. But although the brand takes its gear seriously, it does so with trademark Aussie humour and blunt, no bullsh*t candour. That’s the way it’s always been, ever since founder Roland Tyson made his first outdoor gear on an old industrial sewing machine in his childhood bedroom back in 1983, at the age of 17. Soon he was designing and manufacturing equipment for other Australian adventurers – and in 1991, he outfitted an unusual first ascent of Everest, in the form of a 1,126 kilometre journey from sea level to the mountain’s 8,848-metre summit. The name Sea to Summit was born.

In 1993, Roland was joined by Penny Sanderson, another Aussie explorer and innovator. Their designs were honed on their adventures, as they spent months climbing, sailing, trekking, overlanding and biking. Nearly thirty years later, Sea to Summit is still 100% Aussie owned and operated, and still putting painstakingly designed gear into the hands of customers worldwide.
